Cindy Strandvold has loved books for as long as she can remember. Some of her best memories are of the spells stories wove around her as a child. Over the years, she longed to visit Dr. Seuss’s Solla Sallew on the banks of the beautiful River Wah-Hoo; laughed herself silly over Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle’s cures, joined Roald Dahl on his fantastic adventures; and solved mysteries with the Hardy Boys. There’s something special about the anticipation of starting a new story and being transported to another time or place through the words of an author. Cindy’s dream is to give that magical gift to a new generation of readers. For the past ten years, she has written middle-grade fiction with the goal of eventual publication. She has gained much needed support in this endeavor by her membership in the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and many meetings under the cuckoo clock with the Weekly Writer’s Workshop. Cindy lives in Loveland, CO with her family and writes with one of her three cats on her lap. Besides books, some of her favorite things include old houses, cats, warm chocolate chip cookies, naps and new socks.
